What are your favorite games from the series? Who are your favorite people to marry? How many games have you played?
Just curious to see all these fans!

I actually just took a liking to the Harvest Moon series. Haven't played any of them yet, though. I've been a long-time Animal Crossing fan, and have played them all to date, however.

I've actually only played Animal Crossing Wild World (that is the one for the ds right?) That was awhile ago.
But anyways Harvest Moon has been my favorite series for years now. I prefer the older games to the newer games. The old ones may not have all the features that the new ones have but I still like the old ones better. The new ones are nice too but they have become a bit too childish for my tastes. The old ones had more adult references and the new ones are more G rated. Like with the dates, your date asks if you want to play, that is just dumb!

Rofl. I'll have to watch an LP of one of the games. I've only seen the Gamecube version.

They hae versions for the ds, gba, gbc (I think), gamecube, ps2, wii, and I think psp. I wish they would make a game for the ps3. That would be awesome.

I figured Harvest Moon was a nintendo-only series.

Yep. I remember I found Rune Factory at Gamestop when my mom wouldnt let me buy Ds Cute because she didnt want to spend that much money on the game (it was around $30) and then I found the first Rune Factory which I only noticed because it said "a fantasy harvest moon" on it. It was about $15 so my mom agreed to buy it. I am so glad she did. I also remember Melody was the first girl I married but I ended up making a new game when I realized the bathhouse glitch.

*stalks calmly into the forum* I like Harvest Moon Very Happy I recently re-started DS Cute. I like some of the older ones better, but some of the old ones annoy me a bit. Like (this is a bad example, because both games are on the newer side) after playing Animal Parade, I can't play Tree of Tranquility. I just can't. I don't know why.
Yeah, they have some games for PSP, but I think most of them were also on other systems. I have Hero of Leaf Valley and Harvest Moon Boy & Girl for PSP. I don't play either very often, but that might be because my PSP annoys me with its battery life.

If I were to check out Rune Factory on an emulator, what would be a good game to start with? Or is there only one?

There are in total 6 rune factory games. Rune Factory, Rune Factory 2, and Rune Factory 3 for the ds, Rune Factory 4 for the 3ds (Japan only) Rune Factory Frontier for the wii and Rune Factory Tides of Destiny for wii and ps3.

So which would you consider the most entertaining of the games?

I can either use a DS Emulator or download the game for my wii, just to try it out, but I'd need some direction. I've got the next two weeks off of work for a nice vacation, looking to do something other than work out and goof off.

One and three are my favorites, if you don't mind the random fanatic's opinion. I like the battle system in three better, while I prefer the story of one.

I agree with Rhia. Rune Factory and Rune Factory 3 were really good. Rune Factory 2 was kinda boring.

There was something about two I didn't like. It wasn't the fighting...cause I think that was when my favorite weapon (dual blades <3) was introduced. The people were okay, too...

Yes. I loved the duel blades. Didn't use anything else! But the guy you had to play...ugh! Raguna is the best! The guy you played in tides of destiny was really good too.

Duel blades were so much fun Smile Especially since, well, there's only one game with the option to dual wield that I don't duel wield, cause defense was really important. Eh, Micah was okay, I neither liked nor hated him, though I loved the turning-into-a-monster (only other weapon I used). I liked Raguna. Although....I didn't get to play Tides of Destiny...it's on my wish list still, with a bunch of other games.
